The EU Arctic Forum is organised in Umeå, Sweden, on 3-4 October 2019. The EU Arctic Forum provides an opportunity to assess recent developments in the Arctic and to discuss the challenges ahead. With a broad range of Arctic stakeholders representing governments, international organisations, civil society, industry, research, indigenous and local communities will feed into the discussion. Heidar Gudjonsson, AEC Chair is participating in a session on “Sustainable Arctic”.

The forum builds upon the current and privious EU Arctic policy and will provide a strategic outlook for the years to come. The focus will be on international cooperation, the climate-environment-ocean nexus, sustainable investments, and connectivity in the Arctic.
