The AEC at SPIEF 2019

The annual international economic and business conference, St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is taking place June 6-8.  Since 1997, the SPIEF conference has gathered a significant amount of both Russian and international participants representing governments and business leaders, academia, media and civil society.

The Arctic Economic Council (AEC) is represented at this year’s SPIEF by Mr. Tero Vauraste AEC Vice Chair.  Mr. Vauraste participated in the session on New Approaches to Governance, Research and Protection of the World Ocean.

Mr. Vauraste gave his perspective and called for an international approach for the development of the blue economy and sustainable development of the vulnerable ecosystems of the oceans.
