Arctic Frontiers is an annual conference that takes place in Tromsø, Norway on January 26-29. The theme for this year’s conference is ”The Power of Knowledge”. The Arctic Economic Council will contribute to several events during the Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø next week.

On January 28, Mr. Heidar Gudjonsson, Chair of the AEC, is one of the speakers in the high-level policy session “Future Arctic Business” The session, moderated by Stephen Sackur, also includes Vise Admiral Scott Buschman, United States Coast Guard, Mr. Geir Seljeseth, Head of Europe Office, Industri Energi, Ms. Annika Olsen Mayor, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, and Ms. Wenche Grønbrekk, Head of Sustainable Development, Cermaq Group

Later the same day at the Arctic Council side event “A Source for Arctic Optimism: The Blue Bioeconomy”, AEC is represented by Mr. Øyvind Fylling-Jensen of Nofima and the Blue Economy WG.

On Wednesday, Mr, Heidar Gudjonsson will also give a keynote at the “A Predicted Ocean” workshop on the Arctic Ocean arranged by Norwegian Research Council, Arctic Frontiers and Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).
