The International Arctic Forum “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue” was arranged in St. Petersburg, Russia on April 9-10, 2019. As the major Russian Arctic Forum, this event brought together about 3 600 participants across different sectors. The high level speakers included President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö, President of Iceland Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Anders Samuelsen, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide.

This event was also prioritized by the Arctic Economic Council. In addition to Chairman Tero Vauraste, the list of speakers included Vice Chairs Heidar Guđjonsson (Ursus Investments) and Evgeniy Ambrosov (Sovcomflot). The AEC representatives participated in discussions on the resource development potential of the Arctic, aviation, digitalization and connectivity, and sustainable solutions for the Arctic future.
