2018 Arctic Business Summit will take place in Reykjavik on October 18 back-to-back with Arctic Circle Assembly 2018. The Norwegian Shipowners’ Association will join forces with the Arctic Economic Council (AEC) to organize the 2018 Arctic Business Summit.

 

Arctic Business was inaugurated in 2014 and the Summit has been held in 2014, 2015 and 2017. This will be the 4th Arctic Business Summit.

 

During the Summit, business representatives in the Arctic will convene and discuss about highly relevant topics for the development of the region. This year main topics are freedom of trade, profitable, responsible and sustainable development for both businesses and local communities in the Arctic, need for Arctic development and the necessary tools to navigate in the new climate.

The 2018 Summit will also elaborate which topics should be prioritized going forward. We will extract knowledge, examine the drivers for commercial Arctic activities, and offer added value by improving insights, connecting key business stakeholders and initiating activities relevant to the development of the Arctic.

 

The report from the Arctic Business Summit will be presented on October 21 at 9:00 during the plenary session at 2018 Arctic Circle Assembly by Heiðar Guðjónsson.
