Northwestel is driven by a vision of a highly connected North where every Northern Canadian can prosper and thrive. The company is working toward that vision by providing innovative communications solutions for the North.

Northwestel is based in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada and delivers a broad range of voice, video, and broadband solutions to a diverse population of more than 120,000 northern Canadians in 97 communities throughout the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, northern British Columbia and northern Alberta. Of the communities the company serves, roughly half are only accessible by air, while many are home to fewer than 500 residents.

Northwestel is wholly-owned by Bell Canada – Canada’s largest communications company.

The majority of Northwestel’s nearly 600 employees live and work in communities across the North. Northwestel contributes more than $500,000 annually to non-profit organizations to help make communities stronger – both for employees and customers.  This support includes partnerships within the areas of health and mental wellness, the arts, recycling programs, youth initiatives, northern scholarships, and aboriginal community and cultural events
