Hydrogen is one of the solutions for green transformation. The Arctic region holds potential for further development because of its access to renewable energy, available land, and access to key transport hubs.

The French business organisation MEDEF, together with the Arctic Economic Council, is hosting a webinar on the development of hydrogen across the Arctic States.

The climate can be extreme in parts of the Arctic, but it also has strategic resources, like large land areas with renewable energy from wind, water, solar and geothermal. Combined with the opportunities within maritime transportation and mining where hydrogen use has potential.

Governments across the Arctic already have hydrogen strategies as a way to deal with the unprecedented climate changes. This webinar will have inputs from companies operating in the region as well as experts on the Arctic. LKAB, Equinor, and Novatek will share their experiences in use hydrogen in the production line.

The webinar will touch upon the following topics:

  • Arctic as a favourable region to develop hydrogen;
  • main issues and challenges in hydrogen development in the Arctic;
  • hydrogen industry adaptation to the changing future.

The webinar will take place online on 8 October,  from 7:00 – 8:30 GMT / 9:00-10:30 Paris time

The working language is English. Sign-up to the webinar by following the link and pressing  JE M’INSCRIS https://event.medefinternational.fr/task-force-hydrogene-focus-pays-de-larctique-88f2
